- Are my passwords really private from the developer?
- Yes. Cloak uses VetKeys (threshold key derivation by the Internet Computer subnet) so your vault's encryption key never exists in one place. The developer can't decrypt your data even if they wanted to.
- Can I import from 1Password, LastPass, or Bitwarden?
- Yes. Cloak supports direct import from 1Password, Bitwarden, LastPass, and most browser keychains via their standard export files.
- What happens if I lose my device or passkey?
- You can register multiple passkeys (phone, laptop, hardware key) at sign-up so any one of them can recover your vault. Treat passkey recovery as seriously as a master password.
- Are these apps open source and audited?
- Many are open source, and Cloak and Internet Identity have both undergone third-party security review. We don't host audit reports ourselves — look for them on each app's own site.
